What is powder coating?
Powder coating is a dry finishing process using finely ground particles of plastic powder, which are electro-statically charged and sprayed onto a part to be coated. It looks like paint but acts like armour. Smartcare Powder Coating is a highly durable, decorative and long lasting finish applied to alloy wheels. The performances of powder coating match or exceed the characteristics achieved from conventional solvent-based coatings.
All powder coating of alloy wheels are performed in our workshop using our state of the art techniques and facilities. We chemically dip and strip the alloy wheels to remove previous coatings to reveal the bare metal. If surface damage is visible the wheel is repaired and then sand blasted, so the products may adhere. The wheel is then heated and powder coat silver finish is then applied and then cured. Finally a clear lacquer is applied using the same methods, to produce a factory finish.
We offer two powder-coating prices, Workshop Service price and our Budget Range price.
If you are leaving your vehicle with us, you will have the option of using one of our courtesy cars. These include manual and automatic vehicles, subject to availability at the time of booking. The use of our courtesy cars is free and is part of the Workshop service.
Alternatively you may prefer just to drop off your wheels, and take advantage of our Budget Range.
